INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROBLEMS OF CENTRAL KAZAKHSTAN IN THE WORKS OF TRAVELERS AND SCIENTISTS OF THE XIX - THE FIRST HALF OF THE XX CENTURY

The article analyzes information about the period of the second half of the 19th – first half of the 20th century in the history of study stone sculptures Saryarka, the collection of information about these monuments was carried out episodically and not methodically. The non-specific nature of the study of sculptures is connected with the fact that this period coincided with the time of formation of archeology as a science. Stone sculptures of Saryarka are an important source on the history of ancient and medieval monuments. They not only embodied the appearance of people of past eras, but also reflected valuable information about the social structure and life of those who left these monuments. The article also introduces into the scientific circulation a map of about 30 sculptures found on the territory of Saryarka in the XIX - first half of the XX century.
