Summary of the activities of the Margulan Institute of Archaeology for 2022

In 2022, the activities of the Margulan Institute of Archaeology were carried out within the framework of projects on program-targeted and grant funding of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Sciences and Higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as regional programs successfully implemented in a number of regions of the country (Aktobe, East Kazakhstan) and contractual topics. In 2022, the Institute's staff published more than a hundred scientific articles, including 34 articles in publications indexed in the Scopus database, and 7 articles from the list of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Sciences and Higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To date, the Institute has initiated the conclusion of 74 memorandums of cooperation with a number of both domestic and foreign scientific organizations. In 2022, the Institute conducted more than twenty archaeological expeditions in various regions of Kazakhstan; one international congress, two international conferences and one field seminar. The serial publication “Materials and research on the archaeology of Kazakhstan” has been resumed. Three monographs have been published as part of the ongoing series “Proceedings of the Margulan Institute of Archaeology”. An important achievement of the work of the Institute's staff is the inclusion of the journal “Kazakhstan Archeology” into the Scopus database.
