The article describes the life path of Omarov Gani, about the main stages of becoming a teacher and a scientist. Since 1989, he has been studying the monuments of the Bronze Age, Early Iron, and the Turkic period of Tarbagatai, Chingistau, and Altai. The archaeologist engaged his pedagogical and scientific path with the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. As a result of archaeological expeditions led by the scientist, many previously unknown monuments of the Bronze, Iron, and Turkic periods were discovered in the Southwestern Altai, as well as thoughts were generalized and formulated based on the findings of recent years. Gani Omarov is a mentor, known not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the near and far abroad. The scientist made a significant contribution to the development of Russian archaeological science, to the training of archaeologists.
